The first ever Haringey Community Expo was held on Friday 25 November at Tottenham Hall as a celebration of the outstanding work of Haringey’s community groups and voluntary organisations.
As part of the Expo, a Community Impact Award ceremony was held to celebrate the unsung heroes of the voluntary sector who have made a significant impact on their communities. There were more than 300 nominations across nine categories. Nominees overcame limited resources, worked with volunteers and showed great innovation in addressing significant disadvantages in the community.
We are very proud to announce that The Bridge Renewal Trust, in conjunction with Haringey Council, recognised the outstanding contribution of Nafsiyat in the category of Improving the health and wellbeing of Haringey residents by awarding us a certificate of commendation.
Rachel Hughes, Chair of The Bridge Renewal Trust said: “It was fantastic to see so many people come together to celebrate the great work done by the voluntary and community sector in Haringey. We will continue to work towards a stronger sector in Haringey and look forward to an even greater Expo next year.”
Awards will be given annually to grassroots community groups and voluntary organisations that have combined effective community service with innovative and sustainable practices to improve the lives of Haringey residents.
Nafsiyat is proud of our award and looks forward to participating in this Expo again next year.
