The Men’s Building Resilience project, funded by the Department for Health and Social Care, is a collaborative initiative aimed at improving mental wellbeing and resilience among men, including refugees and asylum seekers, and individuals bereaved by suicide. We are working in partnership with Islington Mind and the Camden City Islington Westminster Bereavement Service (CCIWBS), leveraging their expertise to enhance the project’s reach and effectiveness.
What Each Partner Organisation Will Offer:
Nafsiyat:
Group Therapy Sessions: Nafsiyat will lead group therapy sessions in Arabic and English, specifically targeting male refugees and asylum seekers. These sessions are designed to address mental health challenges and develop coping strategies. London-wide.
Islington Mind:
Group Activity Sessions: Islington Mind are running group activities tailored for men aged 45-64 in the local community. These activities, including art, sports, and music, aim to combat isolation, build confidence, and foster a sense of community among participants. Islington-based.
Camden City Islington Westminster Bereavement Service (CCIWBS):
1-on-1 Therapy Sessions: CCIWBS are providing individualised support and counselling to men who are at risk of suicide and to those who have lost loved ones to suicide. Camden and Islington-based.
